After yesterday’s disappointing start, the MAN Rally Team has been getting into the way of the rally today, even though Hans Stacey still encountered a few problems. Stacey came in 10th at + 32:27 min of today’s winner, Gerard de Rooy. Franz Echter came in 12th at + 00:40:23. Geert Verhoeven ended in 41st position, 1:42:26 behind the winner.

 
This morning, the participants started the second and longest leg of this rally, leading them from Santa Rosa to Puerto Madryn. Despite yesterday’s 32nd position, Hans was able to start in 12th position because the MAN team invoked the priority list of the regulations, where the 15th fastest drivers get priority over the slower field. Franz Echter did start in 10th position and due to the flats he suffered yesterday, Geert Verhoeven started in 36th position.
The drivers covered a total length of 837 km, including a 237 km special. The special started immediately, with no preceding liaison, and the first 100 km were similar to yesterday, in terms of speed.
In the liaison that followed the special, and that ran to Puerto Madryn, the participants were given a taste of the sand and the so called “fesh fesh”, which is soft, powdery sand. 
Frans Echter’s MAN truck came in 3rd at checkpoint 1, where Hans Stacey was the 8th driver to call in. At checkpoint 2, Hans’ MAN came in 11th. Unfortunately, the team suffered another couple of breakdowns today, so that they had to give in 32.27' to today’s winner, Gerard de Rooij.
